MAHIR supports startups, industry, and research institutions in developing and testing advanced power and clean-energy technologies. The Ministry of Power and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy have launched a National Mission, titled “Mission on Advanced and High-Impact Research (MAHIR)”, to identify emerging technologies in the power sector, to facilitate indigenous research, development, and demonstration of said latest and emerging technologies, at scale, for deployment within and outside India.

Academia, Industry, Startups and R&D Institutions, and similar entities, working in the fields: Carbon Capture & Utilization, Green hydrogen for mobility (High Efficiency Fuel Cell), Automation and Artificial Intelligence: indigenous development of the eco-system, Geothermal Energy, Alternatives to Lithium-Ion storage batteries.
